    The Shake

    The Shake
is made up of four guys, Jon Merkin, Eliad Shapiro, Jeremy Stein, and Vishal Kumar, who carry their unique garage rock sound to another level in the indie game. One of the songs of their debut album, “Galleries,” reminds me of a classical 90s garage rock band with a mood on the upswing. The lyrics are catchy, and talk from more of a global perspective about the need for authenticity in the artistic world, rocking out that “the kids don’t need it at all.” As they describe themselves on their MySpace page, the band’s sound is “hook-laden, riff-driven, and loud.” Nothing could be closer to the truth, as their instrumentation gives off an air of being ultra hip without selling short for quality pieces that are certainly danceable. Look for their next live gig at Sullivan Hall on April 23.
