Despite its sexy name, Redlight Cinema has far humbler beginnings than one might assume. Brothers Kevin and Kyle Andreas, acting as guitarist and drummer respectively, are the original founding members and the creative force behind Redlight Cinema’s rock ‘n roll basics sound. Employing classic song structures and pitch-perfect vocal harmonies, they maintain a straightforward boy-bandishness while constantly surprising with skills suggestive of well-taught and dedicated musicians. Billy Joel piano lines and nods to 60’s pop are augmented by chops reared on 90’s guitar bands – they bounce from Kinks knockoff to Pearl Jam rock, all the while maintaining a lovesong innocence and boyish charm. Unexpected transitions and solos surprise with their deftness and add a little something for music sobs to ponder. Currently a four-piece with a drummer and keys player, Redlight Cinema seems like they’d be at ease playing in their garage, at a high school dance, or a noisy bar, all places where someone would dig their sound and appreciate their apparent love of the craft.
