Trashed on Fiction

In an effort to explore the roots of American pop and rock, Trashed on Fiction have created a mildly-interesting mash-up of country sensibility and punk irritability that blends into several catchy tunes with the sound of an overly peppy Wilco and style of an overly pearl-snapped Weezer. Their sense of melody is terrific, however the surf-rock riffs and Hank Williams twang of the music sometimes favors the soundtrack to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. There are moments in which Trashed on Fiction comes dangerously close to slipping into jam band mode, but they seem to realize this and do a good job reeling it in at the right moment. Tracks “Killing Grounds” and “Panic” are two of the only songs that really stand out, but look for this band to sharpen their unique sound in the next year or two.

I'm confused as to what you are actually reviewing. he album that "Killing Grounds" is on is due to be released in April, and the song "Panic" was released in 2005. Was this a show review? If so, I think it only fair to clearly state that this is the case. Thanks for listening!
Band Briefs are generally written in regards to any songs available for free on the web (starting with myspace.com and branching out from there). I'm gonna go check out that album though, cheers!
