    Blank Dogs

    By: Ben Salvo

    Rating: 7/11

Blank Dogs are an alleged one-man Brooklyn band bent on flooding the New York scene with various hastily made tapes of his avant-garage, experimental goth-pop tracks. This music is typically uninviting and muddied except for the occasional melodic hook, which may or may not be worth the wait. However, spend some time listening to the multitude of free, online tracks and Blank Dogs becomes a seriously addictive substance which someone would do anything to find without even noticing who made it, to then scamper back to his basement apartment or a public bathroom to get a fix. In the end, a regular Blank Dogs user is left wondering whether the rush of the first dose outweighs the emptiness left by the last. Still, like most drugs, it’s definitely worth checking out.
