Mostly known as an event host, motivating crowds for various underground hip hop shows in New York, Why-G is determined to prove that he holds his own weight as an artist. His career in music began around the same time his violent lifestyle almost ended it all for him; in 2004, Why-G was stabbed several times during an attempted robbery. It was on a Jamaica, Queens hospital bed that he faced his inner demons and claims to have had a spiritual experience. Now he refers to himself as “The Most High’s musical instrument,” on a mission to make a difference in his community through music, and determination definitely shines through on his tracks.
